Profile

Isaiah is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a Chartered Arbitrator. He is instructed in disputes where positions are contested and decisions require careful handling.

He acts as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations under institutional and ad hoc rules. He also acts in commercial and appellate litigation before Nigerian courts, including the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. As arbitrator, he has served as sole arbitrator and party-appointed arbitrator in disputes arising from long-term commercial relationships, construction and infrastructure projects, and regulated sectors.

Isaiah works closely with clients as a matter develops. He focuses early on what will decide the dispute, how the record should be built, and which steps carry avoidable risk. He gives advice in plain terms and remains closely involved as strategy and evidence take form.

From 2021 to 2023, Isaiah served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Delta State. In that role, he held constitutional responsibility for criminal prosecutions and civil litigation on behalf of the State, and exercised oversight of complex public disputes. The work involved difficult decisions taken under pressure, often with lasting consequences.

Isaiah is a Vice President of the ICC Court of International Arbitration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and sits on the panels of several international arbitration institutions. He is recognised as a Recommended Arbitration Lawyer by Lexology Index, based on peer and client research.
